Overview

External support, internally coordinated.

Custom bracing and prescription orthotics work best when they're prescribed by the same clinician who understands the whole picture — your gait, your training load, your surgical history, your goals. That's how we do it.

Our chiropractors and physiotherapists conduct the full assessment, 3D foot scan or cast as needed, and prescribe to the lab. We see you back at fit, and we follow up at 6 weeks. If the device isn't doing its job, we change it.

Most extended-health plans cover custom orthotics and bracing. We can verify before you commit.

What to expect

Three steps from first visit to back at it.

STEP 01

Assessment + measurement

A clinical assessment of your gait, joint mechanics, and goals. 3D foot scan or plaster cast as required by your insurer.

STEP 02

Prescription + manufacture

We work with reputable Canadian orthotic and bracing labs. Turnaround is typically 1–3 weeks from scan to fitting.

STEP 03

Fitting + follow-up

A 30-minute fitting to dial in comfort and review break-in. We follow up at 6 weeks. Adjustments included.

Conditions we treat

What custom bracing & orthotics can help with.

Some of the most common reasons patients book this service. If your situation isn't listed, give us a call — we likely treat it.

The Omega difference

Prescribed by clinicians. Not commissioned salespeople.

  • In-clinic assessment by chiropractor or physiotherapist.
  • 3D foot scan and cast options based on your plan requirements.
  • Canadian-manufactured devices with reputable warranties.
  • Coordinated with your treatment — orthotics support rehab, not replace it.
  • Honest second opinions: sometimes the right answer is "you don't need them."
  • Direct billing where coverage allows.

Common questions

About custom bracing & orthotics at Omega.

Do I need a doctor's prescription for orthotics?
Many insurers require an MD prescription for reimbursement. We can refer you to a local physician partner if needed.
How much do custom orthotics cost?
$400–$650 depending on materials and specifications. Most extended-health plans cover all or most of this amount.
How long do orthotics last?
Typically 2–4 years depending on use. We re-evaluate annually.
Do you offer custom knee braces?
Yes. Functional bracing for ACL deficiency or return to sport, unloader braces for osteoarthritis, and post-op bracing. Fit and ordering through partner labs.
What if my orthotics aren't working?
Come back. We adjust or remake within the manufacturer's warranty. The goal is the right device, not a sold device.
